I really don’t have a favourite science. I enjoy learning new things and science, mathematics and engineering in their full breadth given you lots of opportunities to do so. At the moment, I’m collaborating with a fish biologist who is interested in the impact of a certain classes of toxic materials (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons – PAHs) and it is fun to learn more about the biological impact of these materials as well as understanding their fundamental chemical and physical interactions in the environment.
A good scientist should always be learning through working on interesting problems and I regard myself as a good scientist.
Hi Carloss, if you mean which science, well it has to be Chemistry. But nowadays, so much of the research we do in Universities is multi-diciplinary, meaning that you might be working with physicists, biologists, biochemists or medics on aspects of the same project. This is so much more exciting than sticking to just your corner of science, as you learn so much more, and also gain insights into how other people (from other areas) science. When we all work together, we achieve much more.
By science I would say chemistry but there are so many aspects of chemistry. Like for instance I work in the field of Medicinal chemistry which is the studying of chemistry for medicine. We use so many aspects of chemistry within medicinal chemistry but we also use the other sciences also, e.g. biology. So fascinating topic!!!
