• Question: What is the least favourite part of your job?

      I don’t like marking too much. I love teaching as part of my job (in the research lab, in the teaching lab and in the tutorial and lecture theatres), BUT, I’m not keen on marking work, although I know it is important for the students to get good feedback (which I make sure I always write on their scripts).

      Least favourite part of my job is meetings! I don’t know about everyone else participating, my day revolves around my calendar. Do not get me wrong meetings can be very useful as it is an excellent way to present your work/findings to a group of people. However sometimes you are attending a meeting that you are unable to make contributions to and so can sometimes be a bit boring.

      Haha – marking exam questions. It makes me sad when students don’t do well in my courses
