No… They tried but I was brought up to stand up for myself.

Very hard question to answer but yes I was. During this time you learn who true friends are. It might be very hard to do at the time but if anyone you know is or yourself, please tell a teacher. I swear it is the best thing you can ever do and it helps so much. It is comforting to know that you aren’t alone and there are people who will do everything to help you.

On and off I was sometimes, and it was hard to deal with. I’m lucky that it was never really malicious, but it still hurt.

It’s never an easy thing to deal with, but the important thing that you must do is to tell someone – tell one of your friends, tell a teacher, tell a parent, tell a coach, but please tell someone so they can help you. Honestly the worst thing is to try and deal with this on your own – you will have people who will be more than happy to help you, just ask them, and don’t let the bullies win.

I would say no. I was fortunate that I made friends with a lot of people who had similar interests. Bullying is tough but that’s one of things I liked about going to university – everyone starts a fresh as equals!

I was a little bit in primary school and at the time it felt so hard but I think in the end it taught me not to care too much about what people think and to be my own person. Maybe that’s why when I got to High School I didn’t have the same problem, I was just being myself, and that seemed to help.
